The Newport Outrigger Club, established in 1958, was the first Hawaiian outrigger club on the West Coast. Founded by Noah Kalama, the organization today is led by his son, Thomas Kalama. Still based in Newport Beach, CA, the club continues to promote long-held native Hawaiian traditions through the sport of outrigger paddling and other cultural arts.
"Ohana" means "family" in Hawaiian and that is what Newport Outrigger is all about! With programs for both adults and "keikis" (children), everyone is welcome.
So, come and join us on the water...enjoy the beautiful outdoors...and get some great exercise while you are at it!!
Mahalo and hope to see you soon!
